Brain Food Review

Today I dicovered a podcost called Brain Busters. How I found it was because on the iTunes Music Store for Podcast, there is a list of the top 1- podcasts. I choose the 3rd one called Brain busters. It was produced by Station81.com. It was a video podcast with audio. It was to learn Japanese Words and Kanji. The word is repeated twice and then the Kanji is shown and repeated twice also. It goes a little fast and I had to continue to stop the podcst and rewind to be able to repeat the word properly. It was a very short podcast, 1 minute and 54 seconds to exact. But the podcast is updated daily with a combination of about 15 words. The words that are being shown to you are more advance, such as :troublesome, vague, wisdom and ironic. The background is music with a heavy bass beat to get in a the flow of repeating. It is a creative podcast. It shows how educational podcast can be. So if you are interested in learn vocabulary from another language, check out podcasts before you go and spend a lot of money on sudio Cds! Here is the website of the people that produced the podcast that I listened to: http://www.station81.com/

Audio: Self Introduction

Here is my self introduction I produced through Audicity and Garageband.

Podcast Review: RICH and JOSH

Tonight I listened to a recently released episode of the Rich and Josh Show. It was an interesting format of friends that have the convience of living together that have easy accessability of producing a podcast. The show is only 20 minutes long, so the format held my attention. If it was any longer I would need more structure. It was enjoyable to hear about Philly hot spots and different areas that I have been to that they are talking about.
I feel like their inside jokes are explained to the rest of us, I chuggled a couple of times aloud because I can picture my friends telling these same stories in these same locations.
I think this format only works because these indivudals seem to be new to the meteropolis, new to each other, new to being on their own, so it makes it easy to listen to. Its almost as though these two kids are telling us a story of their day in conversation form.

My friend and I are planing on making a podcast around the same format, but with interviews and event annoucements. Look out for it!

Blog Assignment #1

Article Reviewed: Wired News: Beyond Porno: Free IPod Content

Website Address: http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,69910-0.html

The internet article entitled Beyond Porno: Free IPod Content was a great article for someone who knows about podcasting as well as itunes. It was a great library of sorts from available information, highlighting the best of certain topics. It was not an article to read if you wanted to obtain information regarding "What is a podcast?" The article seemed to written for the indivdual that was tired of not being able to get a great podcast with out paying for it. The article made it sound as if these free podcast were a tresured item, and in actuality I was not aware of that fact that some podcasts have a fee?
In regards to the title of the article, I think the author could have done a better job explaining themself. Was it given the name Beyond Porno because those were the only other free podcast programs that they could find? I would assume that pornography related podcast would be the ones that a user would have to purchuse to help censor accessibility from, perhaps, children.
I wonder what kind of agreements or requirments have to be meet for a free public podcast? I downloaded a Comedy Centeral podcast which was free, and the langauge and content was defiantly adult, and I did not need to click anything to say I was 18 and over. Perhaps just saying explict is enough to meet the requirments.
